Often we hear that experience is the best teacher. But what is experience? Others will say, experience is what happens to you. But my mentors say otherwise. They say experience is what you do with what happens to you.
Everybody experiences the down side. The question is – what will you do? Will you just exhaust every energy you have on ranting and complaining? Or are you going to do something to turn things down side up?
I have a friend who is working for a company for 10 years now. He is very good at work and does everything to deliver the goods. But everytime performance appraisal comes he always complains that he doesn’t get what he deserves. To make things worse, he does not save anything. He said there’s too many things to pay and there are too many things to buy. He expects his raise to augment the credit he has. And when it cannot suffice he complains.
How many of your friends are like my friend? Are you like my friend? Can you expect my friend to attain his goals in life if he will continue his attitude? I doubt it.
Here is a simple advise. If you don’t like the thing that happens to you, change it. If you cannot change it, don’t complain.
~Till then.
